About Bowerstead

Bowerstead is a calm home base for homeschooling families: a place to plan the year, capture the evidence that learning happened, and produce the records that prove it.

Why it exists

Most homeschool software is built as though the problem were organisation. We think the real problem is quieter than that. It’s the parent at 10pm wondering whether they can actually prove what they taught this year, and whether they’ve done enough.

So we build for that feeling rather than for a feature list. The measure we hold ourselves to isn’t how much Bowerstead can do. It’s whether it leaves you feeling calm, capable, and able to show your work.

What we believe

• Show what was done, never what’s missing. Your week is “nine things captured,” not “nine of fifteen.” We don’t give you a number you can fall short of.
• No guilt mechanics. No red alerts, no “overdue,” no streak to break, no nudge asking where you’ve been. A plan you didn’t follow is not a failure, and we won’t render it as one.
• Evidence counts in any form. A photo, a voice memo, a conversation on a walk, a tutor’s note. Worksheets are not the real kind of learning, and we’ll never imply they are.
• Every homeschool is welcome. Secular or faith-based, unschooling or classical. Bowerstead holds your records, it doesn’t hold an opinion about your approach.
• Trust is a feature. Export and delete live in Settings where you can find them. Cancelling is as calm as signing up. No countdown timers, no fake scarcity, no flow designed to wear you down.

Your family’s data

You’re the only one who signs in. Your children have no accounts, and we never contact them. We keep the least we can about them: a first name, a grade level, and a legal name only if you choose to issue a transcript. That’s a decision we made about how the thing is built, before we wrote any code, and it isn’t one we’ll quietly reverse later.

We don’t sell your family’s data, we don’t rent it, and we don’t train anything on it. You can take a complete copy with you whenever you like. The privacy policy spells out the whole of it.

The name

A bower is a shelter made of living branches leaned together. A stead is a home place. That’s the mark at the top of this page: two leaves leaning into each other, holding up an arch. It seemed like the right idea for a home where the learning happens.

Who makes it

Bowerstead is made and operated by Laantri Marketing LLC, a small independent company registered in Wyoming, United States. Bowerstead is open: every account starts with a free 30 days, no card required.

We’re small enough that when you email contact@bowerstead.com, the reply comes from someone who can change the product. If Bowerstead is getting something wrong for your family, that’s the address. More ways to reach us are on the contact page.
