Help · Records and exports

Exporting records

Everything the app has been quietly collecting comes out as a PDF here. The documents are built from your records at the moment you ask for them, so there is nothing to keep in sync and nothing to fill in twice.

Where the controls are

Open Records, choose the child, and find the Export card on their record. Beside it is a preview of the main document for that child, and the preview is the real thing rather than an illustration.

The Export card on a student record, holding two buttons: Export transcript PDF, and below it Export records bundle.
A high schooler is offered the transcript. Below high school the first button reads Export grade report PDF instead, and the bundle is offered either way.

The documents

Grade report. Offered for children below high school. Subjects, grades, and an average, in a form that reads like a report card. This is the one most families send to a parent, a grandparent, or a file.

Transcript. Offered instead for a high schooler. Courses grouped by school year, credits, and a cumulative GPA, as a parent-issued transcript in the shape admissions offices expect.

Records bundle. Offered for everyone. An attendance log plus a subject summary with hours and grades, gathered into one document. This is the one to reach for when somebody official asks what you have been doing.

Generating one

1. Check the school year selector is on the year you want. The documents follow it.

2. Read the preview beside the export controls.

3. Press the export button for the document you want.

4. A line appears saying the document is ready, with a download link. It opens in a new tab.

Generating happens on our servers, so this is one of the few parts of the app that needs a connection. Documents you have already generated stay listed under the export controls, newest first, so you can download one again without rebuilding it.

What the records bundle says about your state

Every bundle carries the same plain disclaimer: it is a general records format to help you keep the records your state may ask for, requirements vary and change, and you should verify your state’s current rules with your state’s education department before relying on the document.

We mean that literally rather than as legal throat-clearing. The bundle is a well-organised account of your year. Whether it satisfies a particular state is your state’s question to answer.

Who can see these files

Only you. Generated documents and any photos you have captured are kept in private storage scoped to your account, never in a public location. A download link is signed for you at the moment you open the page and is not a public address that keeps working for anyone who finds it.

Taking everything with you

Settings has a full export, under your data. It builds a zip containing every record in your account as data, together with your uploaded files, and hands you a short-lived download link. It is not a summary or a selection: it is the lot.

Account deletion lives in the same place and is self-serve. Neither one requires you to email us and ask, and neither is buried behind a retention flow.

Frequently asked questions

Can I download a document again later? Yes. Everything you have generated stays listed under the export controls, newest first, so you can download one again without rebuilding it.

Can anyone else open my exported files? No. Documents and captured photos are kept in private storage scoped to your account, and a download link is signed for you when you open the page rather than being a public address that keeps working for whoever finds it.

Does the full export include my photos? Yes. The export in Settings builds a zip holding every record in your account as data together with the files you uploaded. It is the lot, not a summary.

Where to go next

Grades, GPA, and the transcript covers filling in what the transcript needs. If something here isn’t behaving, write to us.

Still stuck

Email reaches a person rather than a queue, and we read everything. If the answer wasn’t here, that’s a gap in this page and we’d like to know about it.
